F & W Neuromuscular Therapy

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between regular massage and Neuromuscular therapy?

A: Neuromuscular Therapy is a highly specialized form of manual therapy that accesses deep structures of the anatomy in order to help with pain/stress, dysfunction and overall wellness. Our goal is to correct the myofascial(connective) patterns developed from a specific trauma, postural patterns and repetitive movements. By releasing scarred tissue/adhesions we send a healing signal(Neurons) to the brain resulting in helping the body heal itself by giving it a different memory. We aim for long lasting results helping move towards pain free living without the use of pharmaceuticals or surgery. As opposed to regular spa massage which works for relaxation and uses faster movements that do not access key deeper points for long enough to really have a long lasting result.

Q: What can Neuromuscular Therapy help me with?

A: We have been very successful in helping with the following issues: Neck Pain, Shoulder Pain, Low back pain.Middle back pain, HIgh Back pain, knee pain, hip pain, ankle issues, headaches/migraines, repetitive stress, bulging/herniated disc, TMJ,Whiplash injuries, Insomnia, overall stress, Sports performance, reduced range of motion, Anxiety.

Q: How many sessions would it take to help with my issue?

A:The number of sessions required depends on the length of time dealing with said issues and the severity. The benefits can be felt with 1 to 3 treatment sessions in sequence. But it is more common that with 4 to 8 treatment sessions with a more long lasting solution to pain/dysfunction occurs. The sessions should be 1 or 2 weeks apart if possible to see the most difference. Once out of the pain cycle a session every 4 to 6 weeks will go a long way in maintaining pain free and helping with overall wellness.

Q: Can you guarantee I will get better?

A: Even though we have a high rate of success with issues presented by clients we cannot guarantee results and results may vary. In some cases the issues can increase before getting better due to uncovering underlying issues. If after the first few sessions no results are noticed we will refer you out to other therapies to seek improvement.

 Q: Is Neuromuscular Therapy painful?

A: We always work with the client's comfortability in mind. We open the line of communication regarding the client's threshold. While accessing overworked stressed muscles pain is the usual signal that dysfunction is present. By taking slow deep breaths this will assist your body with the process. Our goal is to feel less pain with your body's improvement.

 Q: Are you fully licensed?
